Privacy Policy for Daya

Daya ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Daya mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information we collect

You do not create an account with an email address or password. When you first open Daya, we create an anonymous account identified only by a random ID.

Information you provide during onboarding and in your profile

Your name, gender, city, and relationship status
Your goals, dreams, values, obstacles, and beliefs about yourself
Details about people close to you: your partner's name and what makes them special, your children's names and ages, and anyone else you tell us matters to you
Experiences you choose to share, such as something that changed how you see life
Your preferences for voice, timing, and reminders

Information you create while using the app

Manifestations you write, including any photo you attach. Photos you attach are uploaded to our storage so they stay with your manifestation across devices and reinstalls. Deleting a manifestation deletes its photo.
Your daily journeys and playback progress
Affirmations you save as favorites

Information collected automatically

A push notification token, so we can send the reminders you turn on
Basic device and app information needed to deliver the service
Anonymous usage events (which onboarding step you reached, whether you played or rated a journey, and whether you subscribed) used only to understand where the app is working and where it is not

A note on information about other people. Some of what you share describes people other than you, such as your partner or your children. We use it only to personalize your own sessions. We never contact these people and never build profiles about them.

Voice input

Some questions let you speak instead of typing. When you do, your device's built-in speech recognition, provided by Apple, converts your speech into text. The audio is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and is never sent to or stored on our servers. Only the resulting text reaches us, and only once you continue past the question.

How we use your information

We use what you share to:

Write your daily journeys, meditations, and visualizations, personalized to your life
Turn those scripts into spoken audio in the voice you chose
Save your progress, favorites, and preferences
Send the reminders you have turned on
Manage your subscription

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Daya. Each receives only what it needs, and each operates under its own privacy policy:

Firebase (Google): anonymous sign-in, data storage, and server functions
Anthropic (Claude): writes your personalized scripts from your profile
ElevenLabs: converts those scripts into spoken audio
RevenueCat: manages subscriptions
PostHog: product analytics. It receives a small number of events about how the app is used (that onboarding was started, reached a step, or finished; that a journey was played or rated; that the subscription screen was shown or a subscription began) tied to your anonymous account ID. It never receives what you write: not your name, your goals, your dream life, the people you mention, or the text of your journeys.
Apple: processes payments, delivers push notifications, and provides on-device speech recognition

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored using Firebase, a Google Cloud service, and protected with industry-standard security measures. We keep your information for as long as your account exists.

Your rights and choices

Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all of its data at any time, directly in the app, under Profile → Delete Account. This erases your profile, journeys, manifestations, and progress from our servers. It cannot be undone.

If you have a paid subscription, deleting your account does not cancel it. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, and only you can cancel one, from your Apple ID settings.

View and edit your information. Everything you shared during onboarding can be viewed and changed in the app under Profile.

Turn off notifications. You can turn reminders off in the app, or in your device settings.

Children's privacy

Daya is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email jake@agentmirror.app and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top and post the new policy at this address.
